The Office of the Provost is supporting the Global Education Initiative (GEI) for a second year to continue the internationalization of undergraduate courses at Georgia State . The initiative came from a subcommittee of CAP (a Senate committee) and the goal is to develop a program to enhance global competence of undergraduate students, working toward Goal 5 of the Strategic Plan: Achieve distinction of globalizing the University. Selected faculty will attend a two-day training workshop to help them transform their courses from a global perspective. They will also be awarded $2000 to use for professional development, a graduate research assistant, or summer salary. The training will be conducted May 9-10, 2013, giving faculty the summer to globalize their courses. The new globalized courses will be taught in Fall 2013 or Spring 2014.
